Celebrating Founder's Day 2026

Honouring Our Founder

Our family of schools came together last week to celebrate the 176th Founder’s Day. Frances Mary Buss founded NLCS in 1850 at her home on Camden Street in Camden Town. Her vision of educational excellence still guides our community today. Founder’s Day is an important moment for us. It reminds us of our shared history and the values that unite every NLCS school.

 

A Global Celebration

 

Schools across our group marked the occasion with events that reflected the spirit of NLCS. From London to Jeju, Dubai, Singapore and Kobe, our community celebrated what it means to belong to the NLCS family. Lessons, assemblies and activities encouraged students and staff to think about leadership, service and ambition.
 

This year held particular significance for NLCS Kobe, which celebrated its very first Founder’s Day since opening in September 2025. Watching our newest school join the tradition for the first time was a proud and joyful moment for the entire organisation, and their contributions brought a refreshing sense of excitement to the day.

Giving Day at NLCS (UK)

 

The week also included the third NLCS UK Giving Day. Our community showed great generosity once again. Together, we raised £313,023. These funds will support important initiatives that help current and future students.

The funds will support:

Giving Day now forms a special part of our Founder’s Day week. It reflects Frances Mary Buss’s belief in giving young people opportunities to grow and succeed.

 

Looking to the Future

As our school group continues to grow, we are excited about the future of Founder’s Day. With NLCS Hong Kong preparing to open in the future, we look forward to the moment they can join our celebrations and bring their own spirit to this long standing tradition.
