About NLCS Jeju

The school is located on the picturesque island of Jeju, in South Korea, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It was also the first international school to be opened as part of the Global Education City on Jeju Island, which is becoming a centre of English education in Korea and the pre-eminent educational hub of Asia.

In just a few years NLCS Jeju has earned a reputation as one of the most prestigious and successful schools in East Asia. IB Diploma results are outstanding and the school’s graduates are attending some of the world’s leading universities, including Oxbridge and Ivy League colleges.

In keeping with the NLCS philosophy, the curriculum is aspirational and provides significant academic challenge for students. Students sit iGCSE examinations at the end of year 11 and follow the IB Diploma Programme through years 12 and 13.

A message from the principal

At NLCS Jeju, every student is known, valued, and celebrated as an individual. Our school fosters a culture of high aspiration, where intellectual curiosity is nurtured and a lifelong love of learning is embraced by all. We are blessed with a fantastic location on the beautiful island of Jeju and are committed to providing an environment in which students are encouraged to immerse themselves fully in both academic and co-curricular life. Through a rich tapestry of enrichment opportunities, our students achieve excellent results and move on to some of the world's top colleges and universities but, perhaps even more importantly, they develop into confident, well-rounded young people who are equipped to thrive in an ever-changing world.

“The pastoral care is consistently described as outstanding by inspection teams, and the commitment that no child will ever feel unsupported in the school extends across all aspects of the school, including the boarding environment”

NLCS Jeju students often articulate a great appreciation for the extensive enrichment programmes, which currently include over 40 academic societies and over 150 after after-school and weekend activities.
